Welcome and thank you for visiting my site. For those of you who are browsing the content of dphammer.net for the First time let me explain how this site came into existence. My friends André Kellner and Eva Koks gave me this site for my birthday. They have paid for and created it for me. So to them I express my sincere gratitude. We have only begun to provide the content for the site. As the weeks and months pass we will continue to post materials and updates. It is my plan to provide a weekly blog where I’ll provide you with details from the Federal Death Row Unit in Terre Haute, IN. I’m one of the original inmates who was transferred here on July 13th, 1999 when the first ever federal death row was activated.

I have been present during the executions of Timothy McVeigh, Juan Garza and Louis Jones in 2001 and 2003. Obviously I wasn’t a witness to their executions, but I was here to see them exit the unit never to return. We presently have an execution scheduled for April 16, 2007. As that date draws near the mood here on the row is somber and stressful. Bruce Webster received his execution date during a Condemned Prisoner’s meeting with Warden R.V. Veach on December 5, 2006. The announcement of his execution date during the Christmas Holiday season is a perfect example of just how cold and calculating prison bureaucrats can be. This is the first execution for Warden Veach who only recently arrived here. The selection of a specific date requires input from officials here and those in Washington, D.C.. The announcement of that date killed any holiday spirit which may have existed here on the row.

As 2007 progresses I hope to share with each of you some thoughts, laughs and no doubt some sadness as well. I’ll field questions to the extent possible, so if you have an opinion or something on your mind then let me hear it.
